I've been thinking of getting my own printer, any tips?

• Check the cost of ink before purchasing the printer.

• If it's a cheap printer, and you're not worried about the warranty, I'd recommend checking out ink alternatives (e.g. not the brand's own ink cartridges which are often twice or three times the cost).

• If you're not printing often, ink will usually last much longer than you think.

• There's also ink subscription services now, such as HP Instant Ink.

• If you're looking for a bargain, there's often lots of printers for sale on places such as Facebook Marketplace. Remember to check it switches on when you collect it!
